CHWD Strategic Planning

At CHWD, our commitment to serving the community today—and preparing for tomorrow—is at the heart of everything we do. A strategic plan is a vital tool that helps guide our decisions, align our efforts, and ensure we are investing resources wisely and effectively.

Our 2026–2028 strategic plan is in its final stages, and it will be posted once it is complete. Below is a summary of why this planning process is so important.

A well-crafted strategic plan:

  • Provides Clear Direction. It defines our priorities, goals, and long-term vision, ensuring every action we take moves us closer to our mission.
  • Encourages Accountability. It sets measurable objectives so we can track progress and remain transparent with the public we serve.
  • Strengthens Decision-Making. It offers a roadmap for evaluating opportunities, addressing challenges, and adapting to change.
  • Supports Collaboration. It brings together staff, leadership, the Customer Advisory Committee, and all stakeholders with a shared focus and purpose.
  • Guides Responsible Budgeting. It closely assists our budget development process, helping ensure financial resources are allocated according to strategic priorities and community needs.
  • Plans for the Future. It helps us anticipate community needs and stay resilient in a changing environment.
