About Your Water Bill
CHWD bills its customers on a metered water rate. Bills are sent bimonthly (every two months) and include a service charge plus a charge based on the amount of water used during the billing period.
If you are a tenant, the property owner needs to complete the required Owner/Tenant Billing Agreement in order for CHWD bill you directly. Please contact the owner regarding this information. After we get the required authorization, the bill will be mailed to you, after that you can then register for an online account to easily pay and manage your water bill.

Utility Billing System Upgrade
Citrus Heights Water will be upgrading its utility billing system in late summer 2026.
This improvement will help enhance reliability, streamline account management, and provide customers with improved tools for managing their water service accounts.

Credit Card Payments:
CHWD accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover payments in person at the CHWD office or by telephone. For more information, please contact CHWD at (916) 725-6873.
Cash Payments:
CHWD accepts cash payments made in person at the CHWD office . Please do not place cash payments in the payment drop box!
Personal Check Payments:
CHWD accepts personal check payments made in person at the CHWD office, placed in the payment drop box located outside of the entrance to the District office, or by mail.
Home Banking:
CHWD currently accepts customer bill payer payments from the customer’s personal financial institution. These payments are typically received electronically and posted to your utility account. Please note that some financial institutions have a delay of three to five days before payments are sent.

The Monday – Thursday schedule has been adopted by the District as a cost-saving measure. As always, if you have a water emergency when the office is closed, call (916) 725-6873 and you will receive a recorded message with an emergency phone number to call for service.
