CHWD Board Votes
Not to Raise Water Rates for Remainder of 2026 & All of 2027
Our mission is to furnish a dependable supply of safe, quality water delivered to its customers in an efficient, responsive, and affordable manner.
The Citrus Heights Water District Board of Directors voted not to raise its water rates for the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027 – maintaining rates that are below the Sacramento regional average.
The decision reflects the District’s continued commitment to balancing costs with reliable service, infrastructure investment, and responsible financial management on behalf of customers across Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Carmichael, and Roseville.
Putting Our Customer First
In the face of growing affordability struggles, CHWD's core commitment to its customers remains: delivering safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water.
The District continues to monitor costs and conditions as part of its long-term planning process and make adjustments to rates when warranted. Until then, customers can count on the same reliable drinking water service they've come to expect.
What This Means for Your Bill
Your water rates will not increase for the rest of 2026 and 2027. The rates you pay today are the rates you will pay through the end of next year.

Rebates and Programs to Help You Use Water Efficiently and Save Money
Interested in rebates and incentives? Check out the District’s many programs that we offer to help customers use water efficiently and save money.
Ultra-Low Flush (ULF) Toilet Rebates
Customers may apply for the ULF toilet rebate when replacing older, less water-efficient toilets (3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or higher). Customers may be eligible for a rebate of up to $75 on a new, ultra-low-flush toilet, which uses only 1.6 gpf, or on a new, high-efficiency toilet, which uses only 1.28 gpf.
Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) Rebate
Citrus Heights Water District (CHWD) offers rebates to customers who install a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) on their service connection to reduce incoming water pressure. To qualify for the rebate, a CHWD representative must be permitted to inspect the property to verify installation of the PRV.
High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate
High-efficiency clothes washers can significantly reduce your energy and water use with savings of up to 43% in energy and 45% in water use over regular washers. That can add up to a savings of 3,000 gallons of water per year.
Smart Irrigation Controller Program
One smart irrigation controller, including installation, is available at no charge to CHWD customers who have a standard sprinkler timer installed. This offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
